Nate Swanson has been working in the realm of Software Engineering for the last 30+ years. He loves walking his dog, devouring books and audio books, and going to Church. Nate finds great pleasure in reading his Bible and would encourage all readers to first read God's word and then other things.
Reading for pleasure is a path to recreation. Re-Creation should not tear down the image of God in us, instead it should ultimately be a process that make us wise in God's ways and help us better understand the world God has given to us to live in.
Both J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis considered the story of the redemption of man in Christ to be the Great Story, and that any other stories have worth as they borrow themes from that greatest of all works. Nate Swanson seeks to follow this advice in all his writing.
Other authors that Nate admires include:
James Islington author of the Licanius Trilogy a series that explores high fantasy with a sovereign god as well as time travel. These books can be mind bending but are well worth your time.
Kyle Kirrin author of the Ripple System. There is no Christian influence here but this is by far the "best of breed" among the many LitRPG books Nate has read and the author is mosty moral in his writing.
Brandon Sanderson who is truly the greatest fantasy author of our day including his Mistborn Series and Stormlight Archives. Brandon is a Mormon so Christians will share many moral values with him but not all.
Nate is a member of a conservative Reformed church and believes the Westminster Confession of Faith is a faithful representation of what God teaches in His Word.
